Eagle Cave
4:30 pm
To all going to Eagle Cave this weekend, here are some details for the awesome weekend. We are meeting at Sport complex at 4:30. Stephen Webb, Terry Huss, PJ Wubbena, and Phillip Matthews are driving. (Drivers if you want gas reimbursement, please fill up before you come to the sports park) We need to leave pretty close to 4:30 pm. The trip is about is roughly 4 1/2 hours away, plan on a meal on the way.
Things you need to go:
Health form A/B
Permission slip
Winter Sleeping Bag (Cave is 55 degrees)
Sweats to sleep in
Cot (sleeping on gravel)
Flashlight and head lamp
Two Plastic drop cloth or camping tarp (put under sleeping gear under and one over your gear)
Old clothes for exploring (sometimes clay doesn’t wash out and yes, you will get dirty or possibly wet!)
EXTRA CLOTHES (Always have enough dry clothes to wear)
Extra shoes, boots, clothes, hats, gloves, etc. (always have enough dry clothes to wear)
Toiletries
Towels
Spending cash if preferred (for game room / gift shop / snacks / extra beverages)
A couple plastic bags for wet or muddy clothes OR to keep items dry
First aid kit
Water bottle
Nice to have things:
Knee pads for exploring down under, crawling around in subterranean tunnels
Some kind of head protection such as a bike helmet, hard hat, or as little as a baseball cap or thick knit hat
Snow pants (Might not need as might not spend much time outside)
Ear plugs and eye masks if you’re a light sleeper
The cave is around 55 degrees and humid, therefore the cave is also wet and drips on everything. Depending on the season it can be very wet and damp.
As mentioned above, you will need a few changes of clothes to enjoy the weekend. Please pack a change of clothes that will stay in the vehicle you rode in for the trip home.
The cave is also very muddy, the Wisconsin clay sticks to everything so your caving clothes should not be anything that you care about or may toss after the trip. Goodwill? Many Hands? DAV?
You will be packing in all your gear so pack wisely.
I would also recommend a pair of rubber boots that will keep your feet dry.
We will be bringing some EZ ups, I would still bring a small tarp that will cover your cot.
Yes, BRING A COT to sleep on, the floor of the cave is gravel, its hard, wet and dirty.
The cave lights are on 24/7.
There is a arcade with a snack bar so some extra spending money is nice.

side note: all meals are included while there. No grub master needed.
